Downloading software from the SWD server

This user guide helps you to copy or install the software you ordered in the self-service portal from the SWD server (software distribution server) to your device.

Requirements

You have to fulfill the following requirements to copy or install the software ordered in the self-service portal from the SWD server to the designated device:

Downloading software

  1. Open the SWD Server
  2. Type in your u:account userID and password and confirm with OK.
  3. Next to the free software, you will see a list of all products you have ordered in the self-service portal. Select the required software from the list.
  4. Click on the corresponding link to download the software and pay attention to the notes.
  5. Close the web browser to log out of the SWD server.
  6. The software packages are available in a compressed form. The whole product will be stored in one folder on your device. Decompress the file to install the product.

Windows software: Most of the products are available as ISO or ZIP files on the SWD server. Note the information on the SWD server for ISO files in the directory Gratissoftware (free software) and ISO Images. You can unzip ZIP files with the software installed on your system. After you have unzipped the file, you can run the installation in the dedicated directory.
Apple software: Most of the products are available as ISO or DMG files on the SWD server. macOS can automatically run the installation for both file types.
  7. Delete the download file(s) as well as the directory of the unzipped software after the installation.

You can find important information on the installation in the list of products on the SWD server (see point 3).
