MAXQDA

This user guide helps you to install and licence MAXQDA.

Notes

  • The software is not free. Please order it in AcadCloud.
  • If you have downloaded the software as a ZIP archive, unpack the files onto your hard drive before installation. To do this, copy the contents of the ZIP file to a folder on your hard drive or right-click on the ZIP file and select Extract All.
  • To license and use MAXQDA, you need both an active internet and VPN connection.

Installing MAXQDA in Windows

To start the installation, run the file MAXQDA24_Setup.msi.

Now you must agree to the licence terms. Then click Next.

Click Install.

Click Finish to complete the installation. Continue with the user guide in the section Licencing MAXQDA.

Installing MAXQDA in macOS

Open the file MAXQDA24.dmg.

Drag the application MAXQDA24 into the Applications folder.

Continue with the user guides under Licensing MAXQDA.

Licensing MAXQDA

Open the application MAXQDA.

Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Continue.

Click on Continue to agree to the Privacy Policy.

Select the option in the middle: Connect to your institution's network license.

Enter the following details:

  • Server adress:slsrv1.univie.ac.at
    (or, in case of problems in MacOS, the IP address: 131.130.1.95)
  • Port:21990
  • License name:slsrv1-maxqda24

Then, click Connect. 

Note

If you receive an error message (e.g. Error: -1), this is usually due to a missing VPN connection via BIG-IP Edge Client. Please install the VPN client according to the VPN user guides.
