Accessing u:cloud with an app on iOS and iPadOS

For:  students    employees

This user guide helps you to access u:cloud with the u:cloud app on iOS and iPadOS.

Installing and starting the u:cloud app

  1. Install the u:cloud app of the University of Vienna from the App Store.
    How do you download and install an app? To the basic user guide Installing smartphone or tablet app.
  2. Open the u:cloud app.
  3. You have 2 options for logging into the u:cloud app:
    • Tap on Log in. You will be automatically redirected to the Weblogin of the University of Vienna. Log in with the UserID of your u:account (example: doejamie99) and the corresponding password.
    • Tap on the QR code icon to conveniently log in to the app with a QR code. Scan the QR code that you created using the user guide Logging in to the u:cloud app with a QR code or app password.
  4. Tap on Grant access to allow the software to access u:cloud. 

Managing files and folders

On the bottom left, tap on Files to show all files and folders you have stored in the u:cloud. 

Tap on the blue plus icon + at the bottom to create new files and folders or to upload them to u:cloud. 

Select what you want to upload to u:cloud.

Tap on the 3 vertical dots ⋯ to the right of files and folders to open more options (e.g. rename, copy, delete).

Opening menu and settings

On the bottom right tap on More ☰ to open the menu and settings. Here you can find your activities, shares and transfers.
