Configuring VPN software in iOS or iPadOS

For:  students    employees

This user guide will help you to configure the VPN software on your iOS or iPadOS device.

You can then establish a VPN connection in iOS or iPadOS.

  1. Install F5 Access app
  2. Open F5 Access app – Agree – Allow
  3. Add New
  4. Description, server: https://vpn.univie.ac.at – activate Web Logon – Save
  5. Allow adding of configuration

1. Installing VPN software

Download the F5 Access app from the App Store and install it.

2. Opening VPN software

  1. Open the app.
  2. A note regarding F5’s Terms and Conditions will appear. Select Agree.
  3. You will be asked if F5 Access may send you notifications. Select Allow to view the VPN status on your device.

3. Adding configuration

Tap Add New next to Configuration.

4. Adding configuration details

  1. Enter:
    • Description: univpn (or any other name)
    • Server: https://vpn.univie.ac.at
  2. Activate Web Logon.
  3. Tap Save in the upper right corner.

5. Allowing adding configuration

You will be asked whether F5 Access is allowed to add a VPN configuration. Select Allow.
