ZID = service
- Information and communication technology forms an essential part of administration, research, teaching and studying today. Almost all areas feel the impact of the digital transformation and are shaped by it.
- As the central IT service centre, it is our responsibility to support the University of Vienna in positioning and developing itself optimally in a highly dynamic IT environment. Using a stable and state-of-the-art IT infrastructure as well as a wide range of IT services, we accompany our University from the digital present into the digital future.

ZID = user orientation
- Digitalisation is not an end in itself. Instead, it is a means to an end. IT services aim at providing the best possible support to users in the fulfilment of their daily tasks.
- For us, the user is the focus. We develop IT services that are tailored to the needs and requirements of our users. The satisfaction of our users with our services is a central concern for us, which is why we regularly conduct satisfaction surveys.

ZID = competence
- The more areas IT permeates and the more functions it takes on, the greater its complexity becomes. Supporting complex IT landscapes requires competent experts and cooperation between all departments.
- At the ZID, we employ over 200 people from a wide range of technical fields. Whether network technicians, software programmers or support staff, it is their competence, technical know-how and willingness to continuously develop their skills that enable us to offer our users high-quality IT services and IT support.

ZID = diversity
- Like few other industries, IT is future-oriented and developing at a rapid pace. This requires a willingness to constantly embrace new ideas and to develop creatively and innovatively.
- We believe that innovative strength and creativity arise from diversity. That is why we promote and live diversity in all its dimensions (such as gender, age, origin, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) at the ZID. Diversity welcome :)

ZID = IT
- As individual and different as we are, one thing unites us all at the ZID: we live and love IT. With our enthusiasm and passion for the digital world, we develop, implement and support a portfolio of over 400 services.
The spectrum ranges from the expansion and provision of LAN, wi-fi, telephony and computer rooms to the provision of software and PC workstations, the provision of IT courses, the support of technical tools for e-learning and streaming, the development and provision of applications for campus management, and the operation of the Austrian science network ACOnet. - Curious? Mission
The ZID supports both members of the University of Vienna and external persons and partners in achieving their goals with the help of tailored services in the area of information and communication technology (ICT).
We ensure that our university is optimally positioned and continues to develop in the highly dynamic ICT environment.
Our main economic contribution to our customers lies in the practicality and cost-effectiveness of our services and in our support in increasing the efficiency of customer processes.
