Printing from the standard administration PC
This user guide helps you to solve problems with printing from your standard administration PC and to set different print settings.
Recovering disappeared network printers
When the entries for network printers disappear, this is usually due to a connection problem.
This is how you recover the entries:
- To be on the safe side, save all open documents.
- On the desktop, select the Tools folder and then Login-Skript erneut ausführen (Execute login script again, in German).
- All printers should now be available.
Setting default printer
- Set network printer instead of local printer or Print to PDF as permanent default printer:

Please contact the Service Delivery team. - Set a local printer or Print to PDF instead of another local printer or Print to PDF as default printer:
- Select Start – Settings (gear icon) and then Devices.
- Click Printers & scanners.
- Select the desired printer from the list.
- Click Manage and then Set as default.
- Set a network printer as default printer for the current session (not permanently, but only until logout):
- Select Start – Settings (gear icon) and then Devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select the desired printer from the list.
- Click Manage and then Set as default.
Document is saved as file instead of being printed
If the window Save PDF file or Print to file appears on the screen, you have...
- either set Print to PDF or Microsoft XPS Document Writer as the default printer – this will save the document as a PDF file or a text file,
- or the network printers have ‘disappeared’ due to a briefly interrupted connection (see Recovering disappeared network printers on this page).
