Equipment
Projectors
All ZID Class Rooms are equipped with projectors, allowing you to project the screen of the teacher’s PC and – if desired – of a notebook onto the wall. You can switch back and forth between the stationary computer and your notebook. A user guide is available at the Class Room.
Note
It takes a few minutes for the projector to warm up. Please avoid turning the projector on and off again too often, as this reduces the lifespan of the lamp.
Turn the projector off when you leave the room, unless the device is needed for a class right after yours.
Software
If you require software that is not on the list of installed application software for your course, you can find the availalbe software in the complete software catalogue.
If you need software that is not listed in the complete catalogue, you can request the software via the form Softwareanfrage (software request). Send the request at least four weeks before you would like to use the software.
Booking ZID Class Rooms
The contact persons of the StudiesServiceCenters are responsible for ZID Class Room bookings.

Regulations for ZID Class Room bookings
- ZID Class Rooms should only be used for courses and exams during which it is absolutely essential that students can continuously use a computer. Please use other rooms for all other courses and exams.
- Select a ZID Class Room according to the number of course participants.
- Make your request in due time. As the same conditions apply to all StudiesServiceCenters, it is not possible to maintain a booking for the following semester. The StudiesServiceCenters are responsible for timely scheduling and bookings.
- Please only pre-book rooms that you really need and cancel any bookings for rooms that you do not need as soon as possible.
Note
The devices at the ZID Class Rooms are running continuously. Therefore, it can happen that a computer does not work properly for a short time. The ZID tries to solve problems quickly and exchange defective devices as soon as possible. Nevertheless, the ZID recommends booking a room with more available places than course participants.
