What will change and how does it work?
„Until now, we could only provide a complete package with all Adobe apps (except Acrobat) for centrally managed PCs. All apps were downloaded automatically, even if only one was actually needed. The users were not always satisfied with this, because a lot of storage space and – which was particularly noticeable in the case of an installation in home office – a lot of download volume was consumed.
The new solution now offers much more flexibility: the deployment system provides the Adobe Creative Cloud management software, with which users can install, update and also uninstall any desired Adobe application themselves.“Andreas Pytlik, Service Delivery
Which computers are affected by the change?
„The change only affects centrally managed PCs that are linked to a personal Adobe account. In other words: If the Adobe apps are obtained via a named-user licence. For shared devices in lecture halls or seminar rooms, everything remains as it was.“Eva Schadinger, Licensing & Training
Doesn't the installation of software by users contradict the idea of a centrally managed PC?

Adobe apps: Freedom of choice within a protected framework
From mid-August, users of centrally managed PCs will be able to decide for themselves which Adobe apps they install on their computers. The responsible ZID staff members explain what this means.
