Logging in with security key (YubiKey)

This user guide will help you logging in to a service with multi-factor authentication using a security key, for example a series 5 YubiKey.

Requirements

  • a device (such as a laptop) on which you want to use a service with multi-factor authentication (such as VPN)
  • a series 5 YubiKey
  • you have activated multi-factor authentication for the service in advance using the YubiKey

Logging in with YubiKey

  1. Fill in all the required form fields except for the field for the YubiKey one-time password.
  2. Position the cursor where the YubiKey one-time password is to be inserted (i.e. in the One-time password field when logging on to the VPN).
  3. Connect your YubiKey to your device via USB.
  4. Touch the sensor of the YubiKey (golden area).

Note

When the sensor of the YubiKey is touched, Enter is automatically sent and the form is submitted. It is therefore essential that you fill in all other form fields beforehand.
