Search bot

On these pages, you can use the ZID-Searchbot, which is based on the content of the ZID website.

The search bot provides information and help on the IT services offered by the University of Vienna. Please note that it is based exclusively on publicly available information and cannot provide any personal information.

Technical setup

  • The software for crawling the websites and the search bot itself are hosted on the ZID infrastructure.
  • The AI components of the search bot are integrated via an interface from Microsoft Azure.


Data protection and security

  • Monitoring and log data are stored exclusively on local servers at the University of Vienna. This data is used solely to improve the service.
  • No personal data of users is stored. Only anonymized session IDs and the associated chat histories are recorded.
  • No data is passed on to third parties.
