Printing on a u:print device via USB

This user guide will help you print documents from a USB data storage medium on a u:print device.

Requirements

  • A validated u:card with credit loaded on it. After validation, it can take up to 5 hours for the card to be activated for payment at the u:print devices.
  • In order for the u:print device to recognise your USB data storage medium (such as a flash drive), it must be formatted in FAT, FAT32 or exFAT format. The NTFS format, password-protected data carriers, card readers, extension cables and USB hubs are not supported.

  1. Log in to the u:print device – Connect the USB data storage medium – Main Menu – Access Stored Files – Memory Media (A:) – OK
  2. Select the desired document – Print – (Optional: select print settings under Options) – Start Printing
  3. Tap the eject icon ⏏ – Remove – OK – OK – Remove USB data storage medium

Detailed user guide

1. Selecting USB data storage medium

  1. Log in to a u:print device. If necessary, refer to the user guide.
  2. Insert the USB data storage medium into the USB port on the right side of the device.
  1. Tap the Main Menu entry on the left side of the touchscreen.
  2. Tap the Access Stored Files button.
  1. Your USB data storage medium will be listed as Memory Media (A:). Select it by tapping the corresponding entry.
  2. Tap OK.

2. Printing

  1. Tap the document you want to print.
  2. Tap the Print button at the bottom right.

Selecting print settings

  1. If necessary, adjust the print settings (such as colour) by tapping the corresponding buttons.
  2. By default, printing is in colour. If you want to print in black and white, you can change the colour setting in this menu.
  3. Tap the Start Printing button at the bottom right.

3. Removing the USB data storage medium

Remove the USB data storage medium once you have printed all the documents you want.

  1. Tap the Eject icon ⏏ (up arrow above a horizontal line) in the bottom right corner.
  2. Select Remove and tap OK twice.
  3. Remove your USB data storage medium.
