Setting up forwarding

This user guide will help you set up forwarding if you manage your e-mails with IMAP.

Messages sent to e-mail addresses at the University of Vienna can be automatically forwarded, for example to a private e-mail address.

Notes

  • Are you an employee and not sure whether you manage your e-mails with IMAP or Exchange? Please contact your IT representative.
  • Students manage their e-mails with IMAP.

  1. Log in at Managing forwarding with your personal u:account or service u:account.
  2. Enter the target e-mail addresses to which you would like your e-mails to be forwarded. You can also forward your e-mails to several e-mail addresses.

You can forward your e-mails and keep a copy of the e-mail on the server of the University of Vienna at the same time. To do so, please activate the check box next to Kopie der E-Mails am IMAP-Server der Universität Wien belassen (keep a copy of e-mails on the IMAP server of the University of Vienna) after setting up the forwarding in the form Managing forwarding.
