Redirecting e-mails in Thunderbird

This user guide will help you redirect e-mails in Thunderbird using the Simple Mail Redirection add-on. When you redirect an e-mail, the original sender address is retained. It is also not possible to change the content of the e-mail.

1. Installing the Simple Mail Redirection add-on

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. Click the menu icon ☰ in the top right corner.
  3. Select Add-ons and Themes.
  4. Search for Simple Mail Redirection using the search field.
  5. Click Add to Thunderbird to the right of the Simple Mail Redirection add-on.
  1. A pop-up window will appear in the top right corner asking if you want to add the add-on. Select Add.
  2. Click OK in the next pop-up window that appears.

2. Redirecting e-mail

  1. Open the e-mail you want to redirect.
  2. Click Redirect.
  1. Enter the new recipient e-mail address in the To: field.
  2. Select Save this message if you want to keep the e-mail in your inbox.
  3. Click Send to send the e-mail.
