u:ai – your AI support during your studies
u:ai is the AI software of the University of Vienna and supports you directly in your daily student life. Instead of worrying about data privacy with external tools, you simply log in with your u:account.
- Chatbot: Develop ideas for projects, optimise your texts or use AI as a learning aid.
- Image Generator: Create suitable images and graphics for your next presentation.
- Translator: Perform translations into over 100 languages, such as an abstract.
- Document analysis: Have long texts structured or checked.
Simply select the appropriate module at uai.univie.ac.at and get started.
Software for students
Heads up! You can score some software for free or at reduced prices: Microsoft 365 with Teams and the Office programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is free for students. In addition, students can get special software at reduced prices: for example, SPSS for the social sciences or Mathematica for the natural sciences.
Computer rooms and u:print
If you do not want to buy special software for your studies yourself, you can use it in the computer rooms. Of course, you can also surf the web and edit texts or images there.
If your own laptop goes on strike or you want to kill some time, the computer rooms are a nice thing.
The computer rooms are also equipped with u:print printing devices that you can use to print, scan and copy documents.
u:cloud – personal cloud storage
You do not have to print your precious seminar paper to avoid losing it. Instead, every student can use storage space in the u:cloud. Unlike Dropbox, Google Drive and the like, all data in u:cloud is stored on ZID servers, and thus in a secure environment. You can access files stored in u:cloud from anywhere and with any device.
