Accessing u:cloud with an app on Android

This user guide helps you to access u:cloud with the u:cloud app on Android.

Installing and starting the u:cloud app

  1. Install the u:cloud app of the University of Vienna from the Google Play Store. 
    How do you download and install an app? To the basic user guide Installing smartphone or tablet app.
  2. On your home screen, swipe up to open the app overview. Open the app by tapping the u:cloud icon.
  3. Tap on Log in.
  4. You will be automatically redirected to the Weblogin of the University of Vienna. Log in with the UserID of your u:account (example: doejamie99) and the corresponding password.
  5. Tap on Grant access to allow the software to access u:cloud. 

Managing files and folders

  • The app shows all files and folders you have stored in the u:cloud.
  • Tap on the blue plus icon + at the bottom right to create new files and folders or to upload them to u:cloud. 

Select what you want to upload to u:cloud.

Tap on the 3 vertical dots ⋮ to the right of files and folders to open more options (e.g. edit, rename, share, export). 

Opening menu and settings

Tap the menu icon ☰ in the top left corner next to the search field to open the menu and settings. The menu will slide out from the side. Here you will also find your deleted files, media and favourites.
