u:sign Information to be provided according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdowns, the University of Vienna has decided to use a service that allows for signing contracts, documents, etc. with a digital signature that has legal effect. The University has decided to cooperate with the Austrian company XiTrust Secure Technologies GmbH (in the following: XiTrust). From now on, employees of the University of Vienna have the opportunity to digitally sign contracts, documents, etc. by means of the MOXIS product in combination with their mobile phone signature/ID Austria.
Authentication for the service is via the web single sign-on system of the University of Vienna. For this, the following data are stored in MOXIS:
- First name
- Last name
- E-mail address
These personal data are processed by XiTrust for the purpose of allowing a digital signature to have legal effect and are stored until the employee's data are erased (1 year after the last login). Registered employees of the University of Vienna are findable by other registered employees of the University of Vienna via the service.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6, para. 1, subparas. b and f of the GDPR.
Otherwise, the general Data Protection Declaration of the University of Vienna applies in this regard.
