Accessing u:cloud with locally installed software
Requirement
A device with operating system Windows 10 or newer. To the basic user guide Finding out your operating system version.
- Download software – execute file with double-click
- Follow installation assistant – do not restart PC – software starts automatically
- Log into u:cloud
1. Downloading u:cloud software
- Download the software: u:cloud software (desktop, laptop)
- Execute the downloaded file by double-clicking on it.
As soon as the installation is complete, the software will start automatically.

- Download software – execute file with double-click
- Follow installation assistant – Move to Trash – software starts automatically
- Log into u:cloud
1. Downloading u:cloud software
- Download the software: u:cloud software (desktop, laptop)
- Execute the downloaded file by double-clicking on it.
- Click Close.
- You will be asked whether the installation program should be deleted. Click Move to Trash.
- As soon as the installation is complete, the software starts automatically.

Linux: Installing u:cloud software
- Download the software (AppImage): u:cloud software (desktop, laptop)
- Copy the AppImage to a suitable location.
- Make the AppImage executable.
- Start the AppImage.

1. Connecting account
- A browser window opens for the login. Click Log in.
- You will be automatically redirected to the Weblogin of the University of Vienna. Log in with the UserID of your u:account (example: doejamie99) and the corresponding password.
- Click Grant access to allow the software to access u:cloud.
- The confirmation Account connected is shown. You can close the website.
- The software connects automatically in the background, this may take a few minutes. Do not close the software.
