Backing up shared u:cloud files
- Open the u:cloud website – enter your u:account UserID and password – click on the arrow icon next to Shared in the menu – Shared with you
- Click on the 3 horizontal dots ⋯ next to the files that the deleted u:cloud account shared with you – Download
- Save content

- Open the u:cloud website. You will be automatically redirected to the Weblogin of the University of Vienna. Log in with the UserID of your u:account (example: doejamie99) and the corresponding password.
- Click on the arrow icon next to the Shares entry in the menu on the left to open the submenu.
- Click on Shared with you to display all files and folders that have been shared with you.
- The u:cloud account that shared content with you is displayed to the right of the file or folder name. Click on the 3 horizontal dots ⋯ next to the u:cloud account that was deleted according to the e-mail notification.
- Click on Download.
Save the content
- in a different folder in u:cloud
- or outside of u:cloud, for example locally on your device, on a mobile data storage device (USB flash drive, external hard drive) or in your personal storage space.
- Open the u:cloud website – enter your u:account UserID and u:account password – click on the arrow icon next to Shares in the menu – Shared with you
- Make a note of the names of the files that the deleted u:cloud account shared with you
- Configure, set up and open the u:cloud software – Synchronise now
- Open File Manager – Open the u:cloud folder – Shared
- Select, copy and save the relevant content

- Configure the u:cloud software on your device if you have not already installed it. Use the user guide in Accessing u:cloud with a locally installed software.
- Start the u:cloud software and click Sync now to synchronise the content shared with you.
- Open the u:cloud folder in your device's file manager (e.g. Windows Explorer) and open the Shared folder.
- Select the files or folders you want to back up.
- Copy the contents
- to another u:cloud folder
- or save them outside u:cloud, for example locally on your device, on a mobile data storage device (USB flash drive, external hard drive) or in your personal storage space.
